Angela J. Rowland is both a versatile performer and an experienced educator. She is a freelancing classical musician in San Diego and teaches private flute lessons through the Extended Day Program at Francis
Parker School. She presents educational concerts with Flūtes de Salon, most recently at the San Diego Flute Guild Flute Camp.
New Music Flūtes de Salon performed the world premiere of It Takes Four To Tango (flute quartet), dedicated to FdS by composer Daniel Dorff. Dr. Alan Chan dedicated his most recent composition to Rowland, Ritualsfor piccolo and percussion (2011).
Teaching - Research and Adjudication Dr. Rowland presented her doctoral work on teaching phrasing at the 101st Annual Convention of the Music Teachers'
Association of California. She currently serves as the MTAC - San Diego Branch Chair for the VOCE Competition. Rowland was invited to be an adjudicator for the Bronze and Silver divisions of the Young Artist Competition at the 2011 San Diego Flute Guild Annual Spring Festival.
2011 Tour Upcoming international performances include a chamber tour throughout Malaysia with the PSPA International Ensemble and a flute masterclass at The Hong Kong Baptist University in 2011.
