She is both a versatile performer and an experienced educator and currently resides in San Diego, California.  She performs educational concerts with the flute quartet, Flūtes de Salon, and teaches private lessons at Francis Parker School.

During her previous international performance tour in 2009-2010, Rowland was invited to perform with MIFO in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), present a masterclass/recital at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts - Polytechnic (Singapore), spontaneous improvisational concerts with Sumatran drummers in Bali, collaborate in a multimedia concert for the Gateway Performance Series (Los Angeles), and perform as a Guest Artist on the Shepley Program of Music and Art (St. Louis).

Angela Rowland has toured Austria, China, Germany, Hungary, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Singapore, and throughout the United States with various chamber and orchestral groups. She held the position of flute/piccolo with the Macau Orchestra for five seasons.  During that time, she was honored to perform for the Premier of China and the Royal Family/King of Malaysia for special celebratory events. She has shared the stage with members of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Opera House Orchestra, the Malaysia International Festival Orchestra (MIFO), Perak International Society of Performing Artists (PSPA), and the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra.

Orchestral career highlights as a member of the Macau Orchestra include performances with the following world-class artists: Joshua Bell, Angela Cheng, Michel D'Alberto, Jacques Delacote, Nikolai Demindenko, Okko Kamu, Lang Lang, John Lil, Li-Wei, Lu Jia, Fu Renchang, Stephen Mould, Markus Nyikos, Philip Pickett, Avip Priatna, Lior Shambadal, Muhai Tang, Alberto Veronesi, Andre Watts, Yip Wing Sie, Li Yundi, and Zhang Guoyong, among others.

Dr. Rowland recently presented her doctoral research on teaching phrasing at the 101st Annual Convention of the Music Teachers' Association of California.  She has served on the music faculties of: the Macau Conservatory, Emporia State University (Kansas), Baker University (KS), and the Academy at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance (Missouri).  Rowland previously held the position of principal flute of the Topeka Symphony Orchestra and the Lawrence Chamber Orchestra (Kansas).

Angela is truly grateful to all teachers for their dedication and commitment to excellence, especially her former flute teachers: Jan Gippo, Mary Posses, Gwen Powell, Christine Potter, John Boulton and Shannon Finney.
